I took the Project Hail Mary dialogue as an ESL person grasping around for an idiom and Gosling confirming that yes we do have a phrase for that, not her explaining the concept of a long shot
Spielberg is my goat but Disclosure needs to be a HIT... the reactions to the trailer in my circles has been tepid at most. I think the film looks great but this is the man who once had the entire industry in a chokehold and we're now in 'please let this one land' territory.
I'm not worried about whether it will be a success with critics but the fact that we're all nervously rooting for him to turn this into a box-office hit is the story.
My guess is that the Disclosure Day trailers feel off because they're only showing footage from the first, like, third of the movie. Maybe they go to space, idk. But I definitely feel like they're holding something back.
Just got back to work and my kids back to school after two weeks of ice/snow debilitating the city of Lexington, KY. Iβve had no drives to work/school drop off/pickup/quiet office moments to listen to my favorite podcast. So behind. Finished up the last 8 minutes I had left on a 2 1/12 week old Critical Darlings episode and now Iβm starting on Movern Callar today. Itβs good to be back!
EDIT: caught up. The Kevin episode was prerecorded, so the subject might be moot, but DAVID! One of the Top 25 Worst Feelings in the World is when that year of βbuilding Lego for your kidβ is over with and they stop asking you to help with it. I was downgraded to Sorter (βcuz youβre good at that, Dadβ) and now Iβll find a set completely finished because my son went into his room for an hour one evening.
I love curling. I grew up about an hour outside of Minneapolis and we had a curling club. So in high school I got to have a curling unit for winter gym class. Itβs so much fun and such a cool sport.

βIβm surprised he took so long with the script. Itβs completely like the book. It shouldβve taken two weeks to write. You know?β
God, I love Ramsey

btw not that it matters too much at this point but the graphic at the bottom isn't updated for the Send Help shift

That trailer does look dark. Itβs like they put sunglasses on the camera lens.

The podcast has done a whole episode on a Hamish Hamilton production :)
Closest place for curling in the tristate to NYC is Plainfield Curling Club in NJ!
